Local Gems - Greeting Card Artist: Elisa Goodman ๐Ÿ’Ž Curmudgeon Cards

Updated: Apr 21

Meet Elisa Goodman, Owner & Founder of Curmudgeon Cards

After a twenty-year career as a casting director in Los Angeles, Elisa reinvented herself as an artist in 2000, drawing on a little hobby she had when she was eight years old: stamp collecting. She began to design custom collage greeting cards using some of the artistic postage stamps and eventually became known for her now-signature fiber art cards which feature the stamps on a background of colorful recycled textiles. Her works have been seen in high-end stationery stores and museum gift shops around the U.S.

In 2008, Elisa began doodling and illustrating when her now-late husband was having issues with his vision. Her whimsical, colorful and quirky designs, along with their off-beat messages, use the metaphor of sight to look at challenges with a fresh perspective, humor and heart. She has authored and illustrated several books, along with expanding her work into prints and apparel. You can see more of Elisa's work at her website www.curmudgeoncards.com
